Position Summary:

The Faculty Engagement Specialist is a position within the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and reports to the Manager of Faculty Engagement. The Faculty Engagement Specialist will assist the Manager of Faculty Engagement in striving to recognize, educate, support, and connect faculty within the institution and externally.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Social Media: Oversee CETL social media channels, curation of content, and provide customer service support by answering inquiries with accuracy.

  • Website: Maintain CETL external website on a weekly basis and external website for Ashford’s Teaching & Learning Conference.

  • Tracking and Assessment: Track engagement on social media channels and traffic on websites. Look for opportunities for growth.

  • Live Events: Assist with coordination of regional faculty events and the annual faculty awards; including venue, food, and merchandise.

  • Design: Assist with design of promotional materials including flyers, social media graphics, emails, and videos.

  • LMS: Create and support faculty learning communities within the native LMS.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with colleges to support engagement needs. Communicate with institutional Marketing team on share Faculty related messages

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of marketing experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with faculty, administration, staff and outside contacts.

  • Ability to work as a team player, providing constructive contributions, information and backup to enable effective and efficient delivery of service.

  • Detail-oriented, superior organizational skills. Skill in managing time and setting priorities in an environment of frequent interruptions and distractions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite.

  • Experience with web-building software such as Wix.

  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in social media and website.

  • Strategic thinking. Continually looking for ways to improve engagement through our various platforms and within the institution.

  • 1-2 years of experience with digital marketing and advertising

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field. Degree Verification Requirement: All education must be conferred by a regionally accredited or approved nationally accredited institution. All candidates must provide proof of higher education (official transcripts) upon request.
