Ashford University Fianancial Services Processor in Clinton, Iowa
The Financial Services Processor analyzes students’ financial aid documentation to ensure accuracy/completeness, awards the appropriate funding to students, ensures the funding is disbursed accurately and/or ensures the student’s funding was appropriate when they withdraw/graduate.
Essential Job Duties:
Review/Approve student documents based on standard operating procedures.
Award funding to students based on standard operating procedures.
Review disbursement eligibility.
Calculate excess funding to be sent to a student.
Calculate earned/unearned aid and request necessary refunds.
All other duties as assigned.
Specialty Knowledge & Subject Area Expertise
Maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State and Institutional Policies governing Title IV student aid programs.
Review the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) to determine current student eligibility.
Review the Common Originations and Disbursement System (COD) to determine current student eligibility.
Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of federal financial aid programs and regulations.
Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
One (1) year of experience in an educational setting or finance background required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Financial Aid experience is a plus.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
If a degree or education credit minimum is required for the position, all education must be conferred by a regionally accredited or approved nationally accredited institution. All candidates must provide proof of higher education (official transcripts) upon request.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, where the noise level is usually moderate.
