Ashford University Administrative Assistant for the Center for Women’s Leadership - Work Study in United States

Position Summary:

The Center for Women’s Leadership Administrative Assistant (Work Study) is a remote part-time employment opportunity in the Forbes School of Business & Technology. Reporting to the Department Chair in the Forbes School of Business & Technology. The role will be responsible for helping to support operations within the Center for Women’s Leadership including research, marketing, member communication, and administration.

Essential Job Duties:

Research Tasks

  • Maintain a running list of pertinent news articles and research related to women’s leadership

Marketing Tasks

  • Monitor social media sites for the Center for Women’s Leadership

  • Manage a calendar of planned social media posts

  • Post approved content on social media

  • Curate suggestions for social media shares

  • Participate in advertising and recruitment efforts for new members

Administrative Tasks

  • Other administrative duties as defined

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible to receive Federal Work Study funding

  • Enrolled in a degree-seeking program with Ashford University

  • Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress

  • Have no holds on student account

  • Have no history of Student Community Standards violations

  • Possess reliable phone, internet connection and computer

  • Have a minimum 15 hours per week available for work study employment

Education Requirements:

The successful candidate will be an active/enrolled student in a degree-seeking program at Ashford University.

Note: This opportunity of employment will require a completed pre-employment screening to be inclusive of, but not limited to: a criminal background investigation, a credit check investigation, verification of education credentials, verification of prior employment history and a professional reference check; with review prior to an offer of employment being extended.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to perform scholarly research

  • Advanced proficiency with a variety of social media platforms

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficiency in project management

  • Knowledge of Zoom or other virtual meeting modalities

Additional Specifics:

  • Supervisor: Dr. Gail Hoskyns-Long, Lead Faculty

  • Pay rate: $12.50 per hour.

  • Estimated length of the assignment: Based on eligible funding or not to exceed past the end of the 2020-2021 award year, whichever is earliest.

  • Evaluation Procedure: Student workers will be evaluated on eligibility and performance as needed.
